In the first half of this epic Christian romance novel, Dr. Ayiti Jean-Pierre is determined to travel back to the homeland that is her namesake,Ayiti--or "Haiti," as it is known in English. When she was seven-years-old, Ayiti and her family were forced to flee the beautiful island to escape the political turmoil and poverty that was beginning to bring misery to the Haitian people. Once her family moved to New York, Ayiti never quite got over the feeling of being displaced. She never quite felt at home. With a deep longing to return to her homeland, Ayiti throws herself into her studies and becomes a successful doctor. Ayiti knows she has a God-given call on her life to return and help.
She moves back to Haiti to provide volunteer medical services with a Christian Medical Missionary Group. She knows she is responding to
a call God has placed on her life. What she doesn't know is that God has so much more in store for her.

After arriving in Haiti, Ayiti meets an English missionary, Pastor Jude Patterson. Pastor Jude Patterson has been living in Haiti his entire life. His British family gave their lives to minister to, and assist, the Haitian people. Their ministry is focused on helping the Haitian people overcome their practices of voodoo and witchcraft in order to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

When Ayiti arrives, Pastor Jude falls in love with her. Immediately, he pursues her, but Ayiti cannot get over the fact that he is white, seven years younger, and of a completely different cultural background. She also despises the fact that Pastor Jude seems to be attacking the very cultural beliefs that she prides herself in.

Ayiti is determined to do what she came to Haiti to do save her people. Pastor Jude, however, will stop at nothing to capture her heart. More importantly, Pastor Jude wants to help Ayiti let go of her misconceptions, and come to know the truth about her beliefs about voodoo culture, and the truth about salvation through Jesus Christ.

Battling issues regarding race, spiritual beliefs, and age differences, the relationship between Ayiti and Jude is tested to the limits. Will Ayiti put aside her preconceptions and bitterness to give Jude a chance? Will she come to learn the truth about her spiritual beliefs and accept Jesus? Will Jude win Ayiti's heart?

This is an epic Christian romance novel provided in two parts. This has Chapters 1-28. The Next Book is entitled AYITI CONTINUED picks up from Chapters 29. It is a tale of the journey one woman faces as she travels back to her homeland and faces the demons of the culture she's honored for her entire life. It is a love story between two people who couldn't be more different from one another, but are brought together for a purpose by God. It is also the story of how God's purpose can transcend culture, race, age and obstacles of every kind.

Do you know that rare sensation when you are reading a novel that will forever change your life? Do you know that feeling of literally getting sucked into a story to the point where the characters are no longer characters but are real human beings? Their family is your family; their friends are your friends; the protagonist is you and the hero is your hero?

Yeah - it doesn't happen often - but it does happen with this book. I am telling you now: ignore the negative reviews (there are only like two) and get the book so that you can get sucked in just like I did. I read this series in three days flat: both book 1 AND 2 but I've been re-reading it for weeks now. I've also read "Jude" (book 3).

This book was so well-written, so captivating - you can excuse any errors you may find because it is just that good. So go ahead, take a leap of faith, read this enchanting story and then give it to your friends, family, and associates to check out. Looking for a birthday gift to give? Send it to your friend's kindle. I cannot shut up about how great this book is and the ministry that is behind it. I'm so happy to have read it and I look forward to continuing to support this author's work.

Ayiti edition by Vacirca Vaughn Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

This book took me to Haiti. Not the Haiti we have come to know in the papers and the media, but the Haiti loved by her people. It is beautiful in many ways an outsider could never fathom. The book offers a tour of Haiti, Shows you God's heart for his people and this country, and gives you a wonderful romance to boot. The main character is brave and head strong. she meets her match in Haiti in many ways. New found and unexpected love teaches her about herself and God, and I learned right along with her. It is a great read. I left many things undone around the house until I finished it. Can't wait to see where the characters end up.
What an awesome story!!! The women in my small group have been raving about this book for months and I finally got to read it (I don't own an e-reader). I loved the story! I laughed (a lot), I cried and I was uplifted. I could not put the book down. Reading the story I kept getting the sense that the Holy Spirit Himself downloaded the scenerios, sermons, etc. into the author. In an earlier review someone mentioned that she loved Jude but hated Ayiti and frankly, I think their personalities reflect the relationship between Christ and His church...the "church" (represented by Ayiti, I think) gets is wrong...a lot! Awesome writing.

p.s This book needs to be published in hardcopy so I can give it to people for Christmas!!!
I am so glad I made an exception to my rule which is "I will only download free books on my app." I started by reading Vacirca Vaughn's "The Makeover" when I could download it free, and it was so powerful for me (for more on that go see my review). I felt I needed to support this author by purchasing this book. Vacirca has again taught me a lot about what she believes it means to be a TRUE Christian (among many other things), which is giving me a lot to ponder and pray about. I find this book very unusual for a romance as immediately in the beginning of the book you know the heroine is in a dire situation in which she will most likely die, but The Heroine dies? Really? As I have not yet read "Ayiti Continued" I am not sure of how she will continue the story, but realize it is possible the heroine may actually die. I will probably buy the continuation soon though as Vacirca Vaughn deserves my support and I want these books available in hard copy for my friends who will not consider reading on . My difficulty is justifying spending money on reading books when I am struggling to support my home. Perhaps God will show me how I can read more of Vacirca!
What a wonderful book by this first time author. What a gem!

If you want the pleasure of enjoying a novel with strong Christ centered perspective then read this book.

I really connected with the story and felt they were true to life. She was able to display ups and downs of a man and a woman discovering one another.

I liked how she displayed Christians as fun; we are not up tight. As well as showing that we are sexual beings who have a desire to be obedient to God but struggle.

I can't say enough good things about this book.
Where do I begin? I came across this book (AYITI) purely by accident and loved the synopsis and decided to give it a read. It is in two parts. Wow! Was I in for the surprise of my life! This is an interracial love story, christian style. The book was thought provoking, relatable, enjoyable and just absolutely fun to read.

In a nutshell - the story is about Ayiti and Jude. Ayiti, (a Doctor) is from Haiti and grew up in the States. She decided to return to the island as a volunteer to assist in Haiti's rebuilding efforts against the wishes of her family. Prior to going she prayed to God to find her a Haitian husband and no other would do. Upon arrival she met Jude, who is white and English and so let the sparks begin! Jude was a a kickass/badass pastor and oh boy, I fell in love with him right away. He was funny, knew what he wanted and wouldn't be deterred. The two main characters with their cast of family and friends made this book jump off the pages from the very beginning. Throughout this book, you will laugh and cry, get sad and happy and even shout some praises! It has everything. It gives you a view of Haiti and it's people, and what a view!

For me this book was just phenomenal and I urge persons to grab a read whether you a christian or non-christian. It is just that good in my opinion!
